The brilliant Serbia international’s current contract with the Premier League champions now only runs until June 30 2014 and so the centre back will be available on a lucrative free transfer come the end of the campaign.

And only last week, Vidic’s agent Silvano Martina claimed that his client would not be extending his stay at the Theatre of Dreams beyond the end of his current deal in June.

However, now it appears as though Moyes will make one last desperate play to keep Vidic at Old Trafford for one more season by offering the 32-year-old a 12-month rolling deal worth £90,000 per week.

The problem for the Scot though is that Vidic is understood to already be in receipt of a number of big-money offers from across the Continent, with the likes of AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AS Roma, Napoli and Galatasaray all said to be keen on signing the Serb on a Bosman free at the end of this season.
