The Singapore businessman is within days of completing his takeover of the club and will be in attendance at the Vicente Calderon this week as his side travel to take on Atletico Madrid and he has sought to insist that new coach Juan Antonio Pizzi will be given backing to bring some fresh faces to the club before the transfer window closes.

“I hope my offer is accepted. I have €50m available to spend this month,” he said.

And the news could give Pizzi the impetus to finally try to land his long term target Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian international has never been any more of a bit part player at the club since making the £28m move from Wolfsburg three years ago, and he has since started no more than 50 games during his time there.

However, with Sergio Aguero laid low with injury at the moment he has been given the chance to cement a regular starting spot within the side, but that will not put Valencia off in trying to firm up their interest with a bid.
