The Red Devils head coach David Moyes has been armed with a bumper £100m transfer war chest by the club’s American owners the Glazer family to splash out on potential new players in the winter transfer window, with those in charge of the Premier League giants said to be hugely concerned that United will not finish this season in the top four of the table, and with it gain entry into the lucrative group stages of next season’s Uefa Champions League.
And the area of most concern to the Scot is believed to be in central midfield, where United have lacked creativity and spark and invention for almost the entire campaign to date.
However, the man that Moyes is said to now be targeting to help fix this problem is Napoli’s brilliant Slovakia international, a midfielder who has been shining for the Southern Italians for the past seven years now.
And Moyes is even understood to be flying out to Italy this weekend to watch the 26-year-old in action first hand.
