Summer additions Etienne Capoue, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli are all strongly linked with Spurs exits but one imagines they will only be leaving if decent offers for their services are made.

French enforcer Capoue cost Tottenham £9m and is said to be interesting Napoli and is apparently open to a move to the Serie A side.

Argentine Lamela cost a club record £30m and as such are not interested in loaning out the youngster, with Inter Miland Atletico Madrid preferring a temporary move for the misfiring forward who has scored just one goal in 17 matches in all competitions this term.

Belgian attacker Chadli has barely featured under Sherwood and is also keen to leave in order to secure the first team football he needs ahead of the 2014 World Cup finals.

The fourth member of this quartet comes in the form of German international Lewis Holtby, who moved to Tottenham last January, and a move back to former club Schalke is looking likely with the player’s agent Marcus Noack, confirming the 23-year-old could return to the Gelsenkirchen based side loan this month.

Noack said: “Lewis is desperate to play, which is why we are looking extensively for solutions. Schalke is an interesting option.”
