The Italian side have been interested in the Dutch custodian for some time and have maintained their interest in him even though Seedorf has replaced Massimiliano Allegri in the San Siro hotseat.

Krul, 25, has been hailed as one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Europe by fellow Dutchman and former Manchester United stalwart Edwin Van Der Sar, and he is also wanted by Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach as a potential replacement for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, who is believed to be joining Barcelona in the summer.

Milan have struggled for form this season and currently sit in 11th place in Serie A, but even so they are believed to be too much of a temptation for the player to turn down, though they will have to pay a significant amount to prize him away from St James’ Park as he still has three years to run on his contract.
