Southampton head coach Mauricio Pochettino is set to quit the south-coast club in the wake of executive chairman Nicola Cortese’s resignation on Wednesday, with a whole host of big-name players now also in line to depart St Mary’s too in the January transfer window, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

Young stars such as Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriquez are all now said to be considering their Southampton futures, with all three having been heavily linked with rival clubs in the past.
“Mauricio is very angry and hurt by the departure of Nicola and is seriously considering his future. He said previously he could not see a Southampton without Nicola at the helm and has not changed that opinion,” revealed a Saints source.
