The highly rated French trainer’s current deal with the north London club now only runs until June 30 2014, however, the Gunners hierarchy are said not to be worried about the current delay in getting Wenger to agree terms on his new deal.

Arsenal have had the new contract offer on the table for some time now, with Wenger himself even stating as far back as last autumn that he would soon be signing the deal, although at that time the 64-year-old claimed that he first wanted to guide the club safely through the group stages of this season’s Uefa Champions League.

However, with Arsenal currently sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League standings, and with the January transfer window having also recently just opened again for business for the season, Wenger has by all accounts been a busy man of late.

But the word coming out of the Emirates is for fans of the club not to worry about the delay, with Wenger still expected to sign a new bumper two-year deal imminently.
