The Merseyside giants are understood to currently be one of a number of clubs interested in landing the Ghana international, although reports in Italy now suggest that it is Brendan Rodgers’s men who are leading the way in the race for Agyemang-Badu’s signature this month.

The 23-year-0ld has been with Udinese now for the past four years, during which time the player has gone on to prove himself to be one of the best defensive midfielders in the Italian top flight.

And Agyemang-Badu has featured in a total of 79 matches for Udinese in all competitions in that time, 60 of which have come in the league, with the player having found the back of the net on just the one occasion in the process.

Meanwhile so far in this campaign, Agyemang-Badu has played 13 times for the Italian outfit, 12 times in Serie A, while the Ghanaian will also be taking part in this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals with his country.
