The Gunners have been closely monitoring the Cameroon international’s development so far in this campaign, and head coach Arsene Wenger has obviously been liking what he has been hearing back from his scouts as the Frenchman sent more of his scouting network over to northern France to check out Souare play for Lille against St Etienne in Ligue 1 on Friday.

The full back has been at Lille now for the past three years, during which time the player has managed to find the back of the net on three occasions already in his 12 league outings for the club going into this campaign, although Souare has also been shipped out to Reims on loan during that time too.

And so far in this season, the 23-year-old has managed to net a further three times in his 22 matches in all competitions for Lille, with all three of those strikes coming in Ligue 1.

However, with a contract at Lille that runs until June 2017, the Senegalese will not be easy to lure to the Emirates though,
