Old Trafford boss David Moyes sees the Uruguayan as a potential replacement for Wayne Rooney, who the Scot fears could be set for a summer exit.

Moyes is concerned that the 28 year old will quit Man United after the World Cup, a move that is perhaps all the more likely if a top four finish is not secured by the former Everton manager.

26 year old Parc des Princes ace Cavani is apparently unhappy with life in Ligue 1 and believes that the French top tier lacks passion and intensity and could therefore be tempted by a move to the Premier League

The former Napoli man’s advisors apparently see a move to Man United as an ideal one to consider though PSG are said to want at least £55m for the forward, who they signed in a £53m deal last July.

Whilst Cavani may be unsettled in the French capital it certainly hasn’t affected his form with the powerful forward scoring 18 goals in all competitions this term.

David Moyes has certainly talked up the possibility of a world-class signing arriving at Man United stating;

“The number of big players wanting to join Manchester United is incredible.

“Maybe players want to go to other clubs for the money but if you ask them where they really want to be, what badge they really want to wear, then they’ll say Manchester United.”

Indeed the Man United boss has taken personal scouting missions to view the PSG forward this season.
