Tottenham are said to be lining up a hopeful bid for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus according to the Daily Mirror.

The White Hart Lane side will have to battle the likes of Man United in pursuit of the 24 year old German international who is said to be valued at around £28m and is only a plausible target if the North London club can look to decrease their wage bill.

Boss Tim Sherwood will look to offload a number of players including recent signings Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli
as well as midfielder Lewis Holtby with forward Jermain Defoe having already clinched a £6m move to MLS side Toronto FC to help balance the books ahead of a move for Reus, who is now apparently the Tottenham boss’s number one transfer target.

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp must fear the loss of further members of his Westfalenstadion squad having seen Robert Lewandowski agree a summer move to join former team-mate Mario Gotze at Bayern Munich but Tottenham would have to have secured a Champions League spot to have any hope of luring the 24 year old, a move that seems next to impossible this month.
