The England international only signed for the Reds on a five-year deal on Jan 2 2013 for a bargain fee of just £12m, however, already in the space of only 12 months at Anfield the 24-year-old has proved himself to be indispensable to head coach Brendan Rodgers.

And that is because Sturridge has managed to find the back of the net on an impressive 24 occasions in total in just 32 matches in all competitions for his new team in that time, including an equally eye-catching 21 strikes in only 28 Premier League outings for the Reds.
Meanwhile, in this campaign the forward has netted 13 times in 16 contests, 11 of which have come in the top flight for the Merseysiders.
