The Ukrainian international has been in fine form in recent seasons and is the type of goal-scoring wide-man Rodgers is keen to land this month to help keep up Liverpool’s push for a top four finish.
Yarmolenko would set Liverpool back £15m and is a player that is perhaps all the more important given the poor displays put in by summer signing Iago Aspas and loaned in winger Victor Moses.
Rodgers may well feel that Yarmolenko is the man to provide that extra impetus up front and the 24 year old has plenty of top level experience and has scored an impressive 70 goals in 197 appearances for Dynamo Kiev and has scored 14 goals in 38 appearances for the Ukraine national team.
Liverpool currently sit in fourth place with Tottenham and Everton hot on their heels in the race for a Champions League berth.
