The 21 year old Egyptian has been brought in to replace Juan Mata and will cost Chelsea £12m to make the talented wide-man the second signing of the January transfer window for boss Jose Mourinho.
It’s been a busy month thus far for the Stamford Bridge manager who has sold Kevin de Bruyne to Wolfsburg and Juan Mata to Man United, deals that have netted the club in excess of £50m. Veteran midfielder Michael Essien has also completed a free transfer move to AC Milan.
Salah netted in two Champions League encounters against Chelsea this season and Mourinho was clearly impressed by what he saw.
Mourinho also signed Nemanja Matic in a £21m deal from Benfica earlier this month.
