Newly appointed Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer clearly has connections at Old Trafford following his time as both a player and coach at the Premier League title holders and the addition of this duo will certainly go some way to strengthening his Cardiff City squad as he looks to pull the club away from the drop zone.

First team chances have come few and far between for former Crystal Palace man Wilfried Zaha, with the £15m signing making just two sub appearances in Premier League action. A move to Cardiff City could well act as a shop window for the England man and if he were to make a real impact he could perhaps sneak into Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad, not least as Arsenal’s Theo Walcott is out with a long term injury.

Fabio hasn’t fared much better, starting just one Premier League fixture this season and that coming back in mid-September.

The Brazilian full-back may well also be set for a permanent exit as he doesn’t appear to figure too highly in Moyes’s first team plans.
