The right back is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with Ligue 1 giants PSG and AS Monaco.
But Wenger revealed last week the Gunners were working to tie Sagna, 30, to a new deal and reiterated this in a press conference on Monday.
Wenger described the defender as ‘a very important player’ and stressed Sagna would remain committed to Arsenal for as long as he was at the club.
Sagna has made over 250 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Auxerre in 2007 and has been on fine form this season, bagging one goal and one assist in 18 league matches.
