Belgian starlet Courtois joined Chelsea back in 2011 and was rushed out to Atletico Madrid straight away in order to gain more match time experience. He was originally intended to be the long term replacement for current number one Petr Cech, but after spending three consecutive seasons in Spain he has hinted that he is tempted to stay.
Courtois cost Chelsea a fee of around £5m, of which he would be worth a lot more now, and coach Diego Simeone has responded positively by saying that whatever the fee stands at now, Courtois is more than worth the outlay.
And now it appears that Jose Mourinho is ready to cash in on the player and will look to bring Begovic in as a direct replacement.
Begovic joined Stoke from Portsmouth in 2011 and has long been regarded as one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the top flight, and like Courtois, would be worth considerably more than the initial fee of £3.5m that he joined them for.
