The Parc des Princes side have long been linked with an interest in 27 year old French international Cabaye and having had an earlier bid turned down by the Magpies it appears that PSG boss Laurent Blanc has returned with an offer that has met the St James’ Park side’s valuation.

Cabaye will fly to Paris today (Tuesday) to complete a medical and as such will not take part in Newcastle United’s fixture with Norwich City this evening.

Newcastle United forked out a bargain fee of £4.3m to bring in Cabaye from Lille back in July 2011 and has been a consistent performer since moving to the Premier League, with this term perhaps being the most effective the cultured midfielder has had.

Yohan Cabaye won a Ligue 1 title with Les Dogues in his last campaign and will hope that a move to PSG will greatly aid his push for a prominent role in Didier Deschamps 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Cabaye has made 93 appearances for Newcastle United, scoring 18 goals in the process.
