The White Hart Lane side could certainly do with fresh striking options and this source claims that interest in Argentine born Italian international Osvaldo is with a view to replacing MLS bound Jermain Defoe, however one wonders if the Southampton man would be a reliable replacement given recent events at the South Coast club.
Osvaldo hasn’t come close to justifying his club record signing status and has recently been banned by Southampton for two weeks following a training ground incident when he reportedly ferociously attacked team-mate Jose Fonte.
The North London club will apparently set their sights on Argentine boss Pochettino if recently appointed boss Sherwood fails to secure a top four finish, which would appear to be very harsh.
Sherwood has enjoyed a very successful start to his tenure as Spurs manager, winning five and drawing another in his six Premier League games in charge.
