Bundesliga side want Etihad Stadium bit-part player.
Borussia Dortmund are keen on bringing in Man City striker Edin Dzeko with the Bosnian willing to take a pay-cut in order to secure a move to the Bundesliga side according to Sports Direct News.
The 27 year old has scored regularly since his £27m move to the Etihad Stadium though has never retained a foothold in the Man City starting eleven and the excellent partnership developing between Sergio Aguero and summer signing Alvaro Negredo is leaving Dzeko to stagnate on the benhc.
Dzeko is seen by Westfalenstadion boss Jurgen Klopp as a replacement for Polish goal machine Robert Lewandowski, who is to join Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign, and it’s a move that seems to suit all parties though one wonders just how much of that initial £27m outlay Man City will look to recoup.
The former Wolfsburg is a proven Bundesliga goal-scorer and would perhaps be the ideal target to fill the void Lewandowski’s exit will create.
Dzeko has scored 56 goals in 137 appearances for Man City, of which 54 were from the bench.
