PSG have officially completed a deal to sign Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

The BBC claim that the fee paid by the Ligue 1 side is £19m which would represent a huge profit for the Magpies, who signed the 28 year old in June 2011 for just £4.3m from Lille.

Alan Pardew will hope to reinvest the funds from the sale of arguably his most prominent performer before the transfer window closes.

Cabaye has signed a three and and a half year deal with PSG, who are currently top of the domestic league by three points and through to the last 16 of the Champions League, a competition their new signing can of course take part in.

Discussing the capture of Cabaye Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi declared;

“Wanted by a number of prestigious clubs, the new Parisian midfielder has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer of Yohan Cabaye is further proof of the club’s capacity to attract the best French and overseas players. We are expecially delighted to welcome him to the Paris Saint-Germain family to help the in its upcoming challenges in the second half of the season,”

Cabaye made 93 appearances for Newcastle United and scored 18 goals.
