The Brazil international has largely found himself being surplus to requirements in the capital under returning Blues head coach Jose Mourinho so far in this campaign.

And that is because the self-styled Special One has preferred to go with the English duo of John Terry and Gary Cahill instead as his preferred central defensive partnership.

All of which means that Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is believed to now be weighing up making a move for Luiz this summer as the Spaniard looks to find a replacement for Germany international Jerome Boateng at the back at the Allianz Arena next season.

However, the Bavarian giants will need to splash out a whopping £35m in order to lure the 26-year-old away from west London, especially as the central defender cum holding midfielder has a contract with the Premier League side that runs until June 2017.
