The 28-year-old has been catching the eye of a number of manager’s across Europe this month after being named as Finland’s Playerof the Year in 2012 and 2013 consecutively.
The Toffees had been quoted a price of around £6m for the player as he was touted as a backup to current left-back Leighton Baines, however, his agent Soren Larby has denied that his client will be going anywhere this season.
The Finnish skipper first joined the Amsterdam club back in 2003, but failed to make a single appearance in three years there. He then dropped down to spend tie with Zwolle for two years before linking up with AZ Alkmaar for a further four years.
He helped AZ to an historic Eredivise and Johan Cruijf Shield double in 2009 and was brought back to the Amsterdam side in January of 2012.
However, this season he has struggled for game time, making just 12 appearances across all competitions and has subsequently been linked with a move away.
