The mega-rich north west side have reportedly been keeping close tabs on the Spain Under-19 international some time, with the club having sent their scouts over to Galicia on a number of occasions in the past to run the rule over the attacker.

And by all accounts, the reports coming back on the 18-year-old have been hugely encouraging, so much so that City head coach Manuel Pellegrini is now said to be pondering making a move for Mina before this month’s winter window closes for business on Friday night.

However, there does remain one major sticking point though to the Premier League leaders being able to pull off a deal for the Spaniard, and that is the player’s parents are said to be against their son moving to the English top flight so early in his career.

It is understood though that City are prepared to offer the striker the same sort of deal they handed Nigeria Under-17 striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
