The out of favour midfielder joined the Tuscan giants on loan for the remainder of the season last week and is intent on helping establish the club as one of European football’s major forces.
At his unveiling in Italy he highlighted some of the club’s previous megastars as one of his main reasons for choosing La Viola, citing Gabriel Battistuta and compatriot Edmundo as two of his idols.
“In Florence, there is a large project that has convinced me, I’m here to do well in these parts have gone players like Batistuta and Edmundo.
“I want to be at the centre of the project and win like I did in Manchester. I am glad to think of Fiorentina, a club that aims to get into the top teams in Europe.
“I’m here to convince, to stay a long time.”
Anderson has said that he is willing to play anywhere in the team after praising coach Vincenzo Montella for giving him confidence upon his arrival.
“I would play in goal if they ask me; I will be at the disposal of Montella. I like to sit in the midfield, it does not matter where.”
“I like it, immediately gave me confidence and I want to repay them on the pitch,” added Anderson.
Anderson made his debut for the club last week in a 3-3 draw with Genoa, where he came on as a 74th minute substitute for former Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.
