Arsene Wenger identifies experienced target man to help beef up Gunners attack.
Arsenal are ready to mount a move for Lazio veteran Miroslav Klose according to the Metro.
Arsene Wenger’s attempts to land Schalke youngster Julian Draxler appear to have failed and as such the Arsenal boss is looking to alternative options to strengthen his squad on deadline day and a move for experienced German international Klose could be ideal.
The 35 year old is out of contract with his Stadio Olimpico side next summer and as such wouldn’t cost a great deal and could well offer a stop-gap solution to cover injured England man Theo Walcott whilst also allowing Wenger to then wait until the summer before spending big on a more long term prospect.
Klose has scored goals wherever he has played and despite his age is still very much able to make an impact at the highest level.
The former Bayern Munich man has greatly enjoyed his spell in Italy and could be ready for a fresh challenge in the Premier League.
Klose scored 16 goals in each of his first two seasons in the Italian capital and has notched up five goals in 13 Serie A starts this season.
A move to the Emirates Stadium would have the added motivating factor of teaming up with fellow countrymen Mesut Ozil, Lukas Podolski and Per Mertesacker, which could further aid Wenger’s push for the ageing forward.
