Arsene Wenger was widely expected to make a move for another goalscorer this month after top scorer Olivier Giroud picked up an injury, but he has seen moves for Schalke’s attacking midfielder Julian Draxler, Lazio’s Germany international Miroslav Klose, Real Madrid prospect Alvaro Morata and Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic have all failed to materialise.

With that in mind, Turkish side Trabzonspor had been looking to make a move for the Danish international after failing in a similar move for Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

However, Bendtner is so sure that Arsenal will be out of luck before 11pm tonight that he has opted to stay at the club to play more games, feature in their FA Cup run, and help maintain their push for the Premier League title.

Bendtner has featured 14 times already this season across all competitions, bagging himself four goals in the process.
