The Anfield side apparently have a deal in place that will see the 24 year old Ukrainian international move to the Merseyside club on transfer deadline-day.

The Anfield boss is keen to strengthen his options in the final third and with Liverpool mounting a spirited push for a Champions League spot Rodgers may well win the race to land Yevhen Konoplyanka this week.

Konoplianka is a goal-scoring wide-man who would offer Rodgers a direct attacking weapon and is perhaps seen as a viable January addition in view of the lack of impact made by loaned in wide-man Victor Moses and recent signing Iago Aspas.

Konoplianka has scored 33 goals in 157 appearances for Dnipro, the club the fleet footed attacker has represented since the age of 16.

Liverpool are yet to bring in any additions in the January transfer window.
