Deadline day signing injured in very first training session.

Check in to Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Arsenal’s only January transfer window signing Kim Kallstrom has  suffered an injury in training and will miss the next two to three months, according to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

The 31 year-old midfielder only joined the Gunners yesterday in a deadline day loan deal from Spartak Moscow until the end of the campaign.

The Sweden international has not played a competitive match for 83 days because of Russia’s winter break and was enjoying warm-weather training in Abu Dhabi when he learned of Arsenal’s interest on Thursday.

Kallstrom seems to have suffered from the English bad weather and it is thought he has suffered a muscle injury.

Aftonbladet have spoken to the north London side’s press officer Mark Gonella, who was not willing to either confirm or deny the story.

“I am waiting to hear something about it,” said Gonella, and when pressed on whether he could confirm the story, the news sounded ominous.

“Not right now,” he continued.

“I am waiting to hear from the medical team.”

Stan Collymore appears to suggest that the injury may not be as bad as some have been reporting.
