Lazio forward Miroslav Klose was apparently livid with his employers for not accepting a £2m offer from Arsenal for his services according to the Metro.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had offered a £2m loan fee to the Stadio Olimpico side as he looked to strengthen his attack but the Serie A side turned down the North London club even though the 35 year old was keen on securing the move to the Emirates Stadium.

Klose seemingly had his heart set on joining national team colleagues Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski but must now see out the season in the Italian capital, with his current contract coming to a close in the summer.

Wenger had been linked with dozens of targets during the January transfer window but his only capture came in the form of 31 year old Swedish international Kim Kallstrom, who joined the club on a loan deal from Spartak Moscow.

Miroslav Klose has enjoyed a successful spell in Italy over the past two and a half years and probably felt a move to Arsenal would have aided his push for a prominent role in the German national team set-up at the 2014 World Cup finals.
