The brilliant Real Madrid playmaker only recently agreed to put pen to paper on a new long-term bumper deal with los Blancos that ties the Portugal international to the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2018.

However, the 28-year-old has now left the door open to a possible switch to the Parc des Princes one day in the future by telling French programme Telefoot: “Maybe one day I’ll be in France to live and to play. Or maybe not.

“France has always been welcoming to the Portuguese people. My mother worked there.

“It’s a country that I really love. All I can say about French fans is that they continue to support me.”

Meanwhile, the Portuguese then went on to shower praise on mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit PSG, claiming: “PSG will be a contender to win the Champions League. It’s a strong team and will be hard to beat,” he added. “They will be one of the favourites to win this competition.”
