Dnipro are confident that Liverpool will return to sign winger Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer having failed with a deadline-day move for the talented winger according to the Metro.

Dnipro’s chief director Andriy Rusol believes Brendan Rodgers will be ready to complete the deal at the end of the season, stating;

‘There was no time to organize the technical transfer in the summer,’ he said.

‘Yevhen’s all ahead now. If he continues to train the same and play the way he plays, it’s just a matter of time before he moves to a good European club.

‘I’m 1000% sure that Liverpool will attempt to buy Yevhen again in the summer. And, after this experience, the dealings will be more organised, and more likely to success.

‘If they had come a little earlier things would have been different.’

It had looked as though the goal-scoring wide-man was on his way to Merseyside on transfer deadline-day, having even completed a medical, but chief executive Ian Ayre failed to get the deal done.

Rodgers had hoped to bring in the Ukrainian international to boost his attack as they continue to push for a coveted top four finish and finished the January transfer window having brought no new additions.

One imagines that if Liverpool do secure a Champions League berth then Konoplyanka would be even more tempted by a move to join and perhaps extra finances would be made available to persuade Dnipro to sell.

Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be interested in the talented attacker.
