The duo have been rock solid this season, with the Blues defence one of the tightest in the entire Premier League, as was evidenced against free-scoring Manchester City at Eastlands on Monday night when the visitors left the north west with an impressive clean sheet.
And now as a result, the west Londoners will hand both players bumper new deals, even though each man’s current contracts still run until June 2017, with the pair also set to earn pay rises too on their present weekly salaries at Stamford Bridge.
England international Cahill has so far appeared in a total of 27 matches in all competitions for Chelsea so far this season, with the 28-year-old registering one goal and two assists in all competitions in the process.
Meanwhile, Spain international Azpilicueta has played in a total of 24 contests in total for the Blues in all competitions to date, netting once along the way.
