The experienced Serbia international’s current deal at Old Trafford now only runs until June 30 2014, meaning that the centre back will be available to pick up on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer come the summer.

And it also means that Vidic has been able to enter into face-to-face negotiations with any foreign-based clubs who may be interested in his services since the start of this year, one of who is believed to b Inter.

In fact, officials from the Italian club even flew to Manchester last weekend in order to meet with the central defender and discuss their proposal, which includes a bumper two-year deal worth £100,000 per week, while the player will also become the driving force for the club’s commercial push in Asia.

And if reports back in Italy are to be believed, then the Serb, 32, has already given Inter the green light to the transfer taking place next season.
