The Merseyside giants came desperately close to landing the in-demand full back in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the Daily Mirror, only for the club’s American bosses the Fenway Sports Group to refuse to meet the La Liga’s clubs £5.5m valuation of the player.
However, with Liverpool still experiencing issues at left back at Anfield this campaign, with first-choice Jose Enrique having been sidelined since November with a long-term knee injury, while the Spaniard’s replacement Aly Cissokho has also failed to convince in the role, head coach Brendan Rodgers is known to still be on the look out for a new left-sided full back.
And so perhaps the Northern Irishman should watch Siqueira in action here …
