Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho will discuss the matter of summer additions with Blues owner Roman Abramovich and will tell the Russian billionaire that he wants Uruguayan Suarez to lead his Chelsea attack.
Mourinho still lacks a prolific forward to lead his front-line and certainly overly relies on his creative midfield talents to shoulder the goal-scoring burden and 26 year old Suarez would be an ideal signing to secure this summer.
Chelsea are ready to offer £55m for the former Ajax man, who has netted 23 Premier League goals this season, and if Liverpool fail to secure a top four finish then such a move would prove all the more likely.
Arsenal and Real Madrid are also known to court Suarez, who is a player Brendan Rodgers would be loathed to lose at the end of the season.
Suarez has only recently signed a new long term contract which will see the forward earn £200k a week but this may stand for nothing if Liverpool do not qualify for the Champions League next season.
Mourinho will have to see out the current campaign with his current striking trio, Samuel Eto’o, Demba Ba and Fernando Torres, who have scored just 11 Premier League goals between them of Chelsea’s total of 47 thus far this season.
