Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has been linked with numerous efforts to land a creative midfield talent to boost his options in the final third, missing out on moves to land Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka whilst seeing FB Basel winger Mohamed Salah opt to join Chelsea, and now the Northern Irish manager is taking a keen interest in Old Trafford bit-part player Kagawa.
The talented Japanese international had an average first season at Man United and has found his chances limited under David Moyes and the arrival of Juan Mata has only further hampered his chances of securing a regular first team berth at the club.
There is reported interest in Kagawa from a number of Bundesliga sides but the 24 year old attacking midfielder may be tempted by a move to another Premier League side, though one wonders if Man United would be willing to sell the former Borussia Dortmund man to a domestic rival.
Rodgers has seen loaned in winger Victor Moses fail to impress and Spaniard Iago Aspas doing likewise since his summer move to Merseyside. There is also every chance that Italian Fabio Borini will leave the club permanently following the completion of his temporary move to Sunderland.
