The 22 year old defender has been in good form over the past 18 months and is said to be available for a fee of around £12m.

Serbian veteran Vidic has stated his intention to leave Old Trafford when his contract comes to an end this summer and this has led Moyes looking for an able replacement, and will also have to do likewise when Rio Ferdinand makes a likely similar exit.

Man United saw Kaya at first hand with Galatasaray putting in two strong displays against the Premier League side last term.

With Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, who are options Moyes can call upon to fill Vidic’s boots, seemingly better suited to defensive midfield and right-back slots respectively Man United will be looking to scout top quality targets to cement their back-line.
