MC) Darren Fletcher – 5
Fletcher passed the ball well, and helped United retain possession in midfield, but he didn’t provide the cutting edge the side needed. He provides a decent platform in midfield against better sides, but today, United needed someone more creative.
MC) Michael Carrick – 7
His late goal could have been crucial had his side managed to hold on to their 2-1 lead. The midfield metronome did everything expected of him, and was arguably only let down by the players in front of him.
AMR) Juan Mata – 5
Poor. Very poor. Mata looked anything like a £37m playmaker, although he did provide his third assist in three games when he supplied van Persie for United’s first equaliser.
