The 28 year old French international has formed a rock solid partnership alongside Per Mertesacker, albeit one that was shamelessly at fault for Arsenal’s 5-1 mauling at Anfield on the weekend, and the Gunners star is apparently frustrated as his side’s silverware drought.
Koscielny moved to Arsenal from Lorient in 2010 and should the North London side fail to win anything this season then a move to the Nou Camp may prove all the more tempting.
For all their attacking zeal Barcelona do not possess much in the way of central defensive options, indeed boss Gerardo Martino only has two experienced out and out options to select from, Gerard Pique and veteran Carles Puyol.
Indeed Martino frequently has to turn to either inexperienced youngster Marc Bartra or makeshift option Javier Mascherano.
Koscielny is into his fourth season at the Emirates Stadium and has made 149 appearances for the club.
Arsene Wenger would be loathed to lose Koscielny but has shown in the past the willingness to sell players who push for moves’s to join Arsenal’s rivals.
