The Stamford Bridge side are known to be pursuing a prolific forward to better lead the Blues attack than Jose Mourinho’s current ineffective options and the West London side will look to bring in the Colombian at the end of the season.

The 28 year old is currently sidelined with a knee injury that has brought an end to his Ligue 1 season though the former FC Porto and Atletico Madrid man will look to be fit for the 2014 World Cup finals.

Mourinho is also tracking La Liga goal machine Diego Costa and PSG’s Edinson Cavani but the fact that the Chelsea manager shares the same agent, Jorge Mendes, as Falcao has certainly increased speculation of a move to join the Premier League table toppers.

Prior to his injury Falcao had netted an impressive 11 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho has seen the likes of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba, and to a lesser extent, Samuel Eto’o struggle to score regularly with just 11 of the club’s 47 Premier League goals coming from the striking trio.
