Old Trafford boss David Moyes has apparently edged ahead of local rivals in the pursuit of the Spanish international, who is apparently unsettled at the Bernabeu side having only moved to the La Liga giants last summer.
The 21 year old has been strongly linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium, primarily as such a move would see Isco reunite with his former boss Manuel Pellegrini at Man City, but now Moyes is leading the chase.
Man United will make an offer of £28m for the attacking midfielder and will look to have Isco link up with new signing Juan Mata in a move to bring more creativity and drive in the final third.
Though Isco is apparently not 100% happy at Real Madrid he has been a relative regular in La Liga action, starting 15 matches, he has been left warming the bench in the club’s last two domestic league fixtures and has started just half the club’s Champions League encounters.
Moyes may well be ready to offload his underperforming midfield talents with Brazilian Anderson possible set to make his temporary move to Fiorentina a permanent one and Tom Cleverley having put in one too many average displays.
