Reports over the weekend in the British press suggested that Premier League champions Manchester United were themselves planning a big-money bid for the highly rated Republic of Ireland international.

However, it now appears as though the Red Devils will also be joined in the efforts to sign Coleman by both the Rossoneri and the north London club too, with both sides understood to be desperate to land a right back for next season.

And with the 25-year-old currently in such eye-catching form for the Merseysiders under new Toffees head coach Roberto Martinez, a bidding war for Coleman’s signature now looks likely come the summer.

In fact, AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani said: “There’s a lot of dialogue between myself and Clarence [Seedorf] and it’s clear that when changing the formation, you need new players. In June, we’ll sort out what needs sorting.”

Coleman has registered six goals and one assist in 26 matches this season for Everton.
