The Argentine international only left City to join Serie A champions Juventus over the summer, where he has settled in well, but he now appears to have become one of Mourinho’s top transfer targets this summer as he looks to freshen up his attacking options.
Cameroonian international Samuel Eto’o is only with the club on a one year deal, whilst Demba Ba and Fernando Torres have failed to impress, which has led the side to be linked with a number of big names over recent weeks.
And with all three possibly heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door at the end of the season, Chelsea could well make a move for Teves, as well as fellow top targets Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao.
Disciplinary matter impeded on his time in the Premier League before, but he was still widely regarded as one of the best forward’s in the division when on form, and the 30-year-old is expecting to head to the World Cup in June.
Juventus have decisions to make over their own forward line too, as they currently house Pablo Osvaldo, Fernando Llorente, Fabio Quagliarella and Mirko Vucinic alongside Tevez.
