Stamford Bridge side look to land Atletico Madrid ace.
Chelsea are readying an offer they will hope tempt’s Atletico Madrid into selling goal machine Diego Costa.
Sports Direct News claim that Spanish international Fernando Torres could be set for a Vicente Calderon return as part of a deal Jose Mourinho is lining up to lure Diego Costa to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will offer £20m plus the 29 year old striker in exchange for Brazilian born ace Costa, an offer that could well lead to Diego Simeone offloading his most potent attacking weapon.
Atletico Madrid are known for cashing in on their top talents and a move that sees a former fan favourite return to the club could be one that appeases the club’s supporters.
Torres has come nowhere near justifying the £50m Chelsea paid Liverpool for his services and a chance to use the experienced forward as bait in pursuit of Costa is clearly one Mourinho is willing to use.
Costa has scored 20 goals in 22 La Liga starts this term and his form has helped his side mount a genuine domestic challenge but he may feel that Simeone has taken Atletico as far as they can go and a move to Chelsea would also no doubt lead to a significant pay-rise.
