The Italians’ new owner, Erick Thohir, has already promised to provide the necessary funds that are needed to help propel Inter back towards the top of the Serie A standings once again.

And in order to achieve that, Thohir has earmarked two Premier League stars to lure to San Siro next campaign, Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic and Tottenham Hotspur forward Erik Lamela.

Serbia international Vidic has already confirmed his intention to quit Old Trafford this summer and seek a new challenge in his career after eight years with the Premier League champions, with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio saying of the experienced centre back: “He is one of the players we are tracking. He has an interesting profile for Inter, as he has charisma and international experience.”

Meanwhile, Argentinian attacker Lamela may have only just moved to White Hart Lane from Serie A outfit AS Roma last summer for a club-record fee of £30m, however, the youngster has so far failed to settle in north London.
