The Magpies boss has reportedly lost patience with the France international and has let it be known that he will listen to offers for him with the view to letting him go for the right price.

The 26-year-old joined the Toon Army back in 2010 from French giants Marseille, but despite flashes of genius he has seen his career at St James’ Park hampered by a number of injuries. However, he still cuts a popular figure with the club’s fans even though he currently finds himself behind Yoan Gouffran and Moussa Sissoko in the pecking order.

Pardew targeted Ben Arfa for criticism after the 4-0 defeat to Tottenham during the week and is now said to be looking to cash in on him as he enters the final 18 months of his contract.

And the news could spark Liverpool’s interest, who have been keen on landing his signature since the summer, and with Brendan Rodgers still on the lookout for new additions to his midfield he may be able to land the player for a cut price fee.
