The 18-year-old is eligible to play for Albania, Croatia, Belgium and Turkey, and could even represent England if he remains in the country long enough.

Januzaj was at the centre of a row involving Jack Wilshere, after the Arsenal star said he felt the young winger should not be allowed to represent the Three Lions.

And the Red Devils attacker could be set to play his first international game for the newly-formed Kosovo team.

Eroll Salihu, the secretary general of the Football Federation of Kosovo, told the Daily Star: “We are in discussions with Adnan’s family and to have a player of his amazing talent play in our first match would be hugely symbolic.

“By playing in this match we are not thinking he is making any commitment to us. It is a friendly and would not have any effect on him being able to play for another country in the future.”
