The west London club’s head coach Jose Mourinho has asked the Blues board to recruit him just two new players this summer in order to complete his rebuilding job at Stamford Bridge, and the self-styled Special One wants those two purchases completed quickly.

Prolific Uruguay international Cavani has failed to settle at the Parc des Princes since joining the Ligue 1 champions PSG from Serie A outfit Napoli for a whopping €64.5m last summer, with the striker having been asked by the Parisians’ boss Laurent Blanc to play out wide in order to accommodate club captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese also wants to lure Southampton’s England Under-21 international Shaw to west London next season, with the youngster being lined up as compatriot Ashley Cole’s long-term successor in the capital.

And with the Premier League giants already said to be busy working on deals for both players , Mourinho is confident of having completed all of Chelsea’s transfer business before June.
