The two Premier League outfits are understood to have been keeping close tabs on the highly rated Costa Rica international of late as they look to land a new backup shot stopper this summer.

However, the English duo are not the only clubs said to currently be interested in the 27-year-old, with both La Liga outfits Sevilla and Atletico de Madrid also said to be keen on signing Navas next season.

And all four interested parties will get a further opportunity to run their eye over the keeper on the biggest stage of all at this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil, where Navas will be turning out between the posts for his country.

Meanwhile, one-time Derby County, West Ham United and Manchester City front man Paulo Wanchope believes that his fellow countryman would be ideally suited to a career in the English Premier League, saying recently: “Keylor would be a hit in England because of his quality.”
